  • My interests in living in Portsmouth in the 1800s is because I have several ancestors who lived in Portsmouth in the 1800s. Ancestor names discussed are: Luke; Shepherd; Ballentine; Dale; Etheridge; Herbert; Lewellyn; McPherson; Porter; and Veale. 

  • The information presented in this book is based on researching several sources of archival information. Much information presented comes from Artificial Intelligence searches.

Living in Halifax County, Virginia During the 1800s (And What My Ancestors Might Have Experienced)

  • In this work, I present information on several areas (government, education, communities, entertainment, health, trade, economy, transportation, infrastructure improvements, influential external events, and population and other attributes) based on research in these areas, looking for what it might have been like living in Halifax County, Virginia in the 1800s.

  • My interests in living in Halifax County in the 1800s is based on the fact that I have several ancestors who lived in Halifax County in the 1700s and 1800s. Section 13 identities these ancestors and what I have been able to find about their histories. Ancestor names discussed in Section 13 are: Adkinson, Brandon, Claughton, Comer, Crawley, Fanning, Foushee, Moore, Palmer, Perrin, Singleton, Torian, Watkins, and Young.

Virginia Ancestors Who Were Quakers (Cockes, Johnsons, Pleasants, and Others) and Quaker Experiences

​

  • This work provides what I have learned and understand of Quaker history and experiences in Virginia.  The work also identifies and discuss my ancestors  who were or possibly were Quakers.

  • The work provies information on the spread of Quakers (their migration) within Virginia (and beyond) from Quakers’ initial 1600s arrival in the Virginia Colony until the 1800s.
